Volcanic research: Obtain your MS degree while working as a Peace Corps volunteer in the first and only Master's International program in the country in Mitigation of Natural Geological Hazards. Michigan Tech Rowing Team and Keweenaw Star Excursion boat. Click for video clip The Keweeenaw Waterway allows navigation between the eastern and western parts of Lake Superior. A recreational non-motorized trail runs for 4.5 miles along the entire waterfont of Houghton, with picnic areas, a city park and several nature trails outside of town.

Students from more than 80 different countries participate in the Parade of Nations and International Ethnic Food Festival every year in the Autumn. Engineering Entrepeneurs Competitive Motorsports Enterprises
The Enterprise Program gives teams of students the opportunity to become industrial entrepreneurs, to create a business enterprise and solve engineering problems supplied and funded by industry partners. The Enterprise Program also includes many teams that compete in national contests. Mechanical Engineering Department allows students to be members of competitive motorsports teams as well as other projects.
