Sheryl Sorby (MEEM '91) past associate dean and chair of engineering fundamentals, received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Society for Engineering Education on June 26 during its annual conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. The award, the highest given by the society's Engineering Design Graphics Division, honored Sorby's contributions to the society as a member, officer, author and educational leader. Sorby is currently on leave in Washington, DC, serving as a program director for the National Science Foundation's Division of Undergraduate Education.
