The article
states that the greatest increase in jobs will be those who "know
how to clean up spaceship earth." Environmental engineers will
be in demand around the world, but especially in Europe and Asia.
In an article
listing the hot careers for the next 10 years, Fortune
listed environmental engineering as the top demand with a projected
increase in demand of 54%.
Fortune based
their analysis on the Bureau of Labor Statistics job growth projections.
Computer engineering is another area of demand, Wireless Applications
are described as booming over the next ten years.
In another article,
"Top 25 Jobs for 2005," Fast Company,
also analyzed the Bureau of Labor Statistics data, coming up with
their predictions. They also showed environmental engineers, computer
engineers, medical scientists, biochemists, and geoscientists among
