Michigan Tech Rowing Team and Keweenaw Star Excursion boat. Click for video clip The Keweeenaw Waterway allows navigation between the eastern and western parts of Lake Superior. A recreational non-motorized trail runs for 4.5 miles along the entire waterfront of Houghton, with picnic areas, a city park and several nature trails outside of town.

Michigan YES! Expo
The Michigan YES! Expo: The fifth annual YES! Expo (Youth Engineering and Science) was held Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Ford Field in Detroit. More than 15,000 middle and high school students attended the YES! Expo, where they visited more than 100 exhibits sponsored by corporations, colleges and universities from all over Michigan. Michigan Tech's presence included more than 20 exhibits representing all of the University's colleges and schools.

Michigan Tech has acquired the Environmental and Emerging Technologies Division of the Altarum Institute. The Altarum Institute is a nonprofit research institute, providing health systems research to clients ranging from government agencies to commercial companies.
