Michigan Tech’s SAE Aero Design team flew their radio-controlled plane to a third-place finish in the Society of Automotive Engineers’ Aero Design West, held in March in Van Nuys, Calif. Then they soared to first place in Aero Design East, held May 4-6 in Ft. Worth, Texas. |
International Senior Design Students travel to developing countries and work on projects such as community flood control, water supply and treatment, and improving sanitary conditions. The service learning class is designed to emulate work of a design/build firm in industry, combining field construction and an engineering design project to benefit people of the developing world. ISD is a part of D80 Center. |

The Michigan YES! Expo: The fifth annual YES! Expo (Youth Engineering and Science) will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Ford Field in Detroit.
Last year more than 15,000 middle and high school students attended the YES! Expo, where they visited more than 100 exhibits sponsored by corporations, colleges and universities from all over Michigan. Michigan Tech's presence included more than 20 exhibits representing all of the University's colleges and schools.
